This hotel truly delivered an authentic Japanese ryokan experience. The Superior Japanese-Style Room with Bathroom was spacious and had all the modern amenities we needed, including air-conditioning and a comfortable bed. The view of the river from our room was picturesque, and we could even hear the soothing sound of running water. The staff, although limited in English, were extremely friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. The attention to detail in the beautiful gardens and buildings was outstanding, and the Taisho era furnishings added a touch of elegance. The included Kaiseki dinners and breakfasts were exquisite, and we were blown away by the level of service.
No complaints - everything was alright.

The old house has been renewed with great taste, creating a charming and cozy atmosphere. The highlight was definitely the fantastic onsen, where I could relax and unwind surrounded by the beautiful forest and garden. The staff provided kind and attentive service, especially when I ordered coffee in my room. I also enjoyed taking a walk around the area to explore other open-air onsens and restaurants. Despite not having many nearby attractions, this hotel is perfect for those seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating stay.
No complaints - this hotel exceeded all of my expectations.

The best thing about my stay was the authentic Japanese experience offered by this traditional resort, with picturesque surroundings and comfortable accommodation. The onsite hot springs were a true highlight, with both private and shared options available. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor soaking pool, which was both relaxing and invigorating. The staff were friendly and helpful, despite the language barrier. The free shuttle service to and from the train station was also a great convenience.
The worst aspect of my stay was the distance from the main attractions and businesses in the area, which meant there were limited dining and shopping options within walking distance. there was a lack of variety in menu options for meals, which catered mainly to a traditional Japanese palate.

We stayed in a room with an exquisite private outdoor bath, and the genuine onsen water was serene. the vintage ornaments in the building showed the history of the location. the relaxed and tranquil surroundings welcomed us. the friendly multi-lingual staff helped us whenever we needed help.
Finding vegan options for dinner was quite challenging.

This gem exceeded all my expectations! the traditional atmosphere, breathtaking scenery, and serene surroundings truly made me feel like I was in a different time in Japanese history. the Onsen was definitely a highlight, with beautiful natural hot springs that relaxed every muscle in my body. the coffee service in the room was a nice touch, and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. I also enjoyed taking a walk to explore the nearby open-air Onsen and restaurant.
The hotel is a bit secluded, which may be a downside for those who want easy access to shops and attractions. the hotel does offer a shuttle service that can pick you up and take you back to town.
